How to make your first scuba diving experience a success!

If you are completely brand new to scuba diving, then you are at the right place as here we are going to share a few tips to make your Honduras Scuba Diving experience a success. Here’s how you can enjoy every moment of it to the fullest:

Learn to snorkel first

Snorkeling is an easy, entry level introduction to water sports like scuba diving. This is where you become comfortable with the concept of breathing underwater and through your mouth only. It also teaches you important skills like how to purge (or blow) water from your snorkel – which is one of the techniques you can use to purge your scuba diving regulator as well. Plus, it will give you a really cool preview of some of the exciting marine life that you’ll get to see up close and personal when diving. You can rent all of your snorkeling equipment from our Dive Shop in Roatan. And, many Roatan Dive Sites are fantastic for both snorkeling and diving, so you can even do a snorkel trip from our boats.

Just Breathe

The number one rule in scuba diving is never hold your breath. Which is also a good rule if you are finding yourself anxious about your first scuba diving experience. Before and during the experience, taking calm, slow, measured breaths will help you to activate your parasympathetic nervous system which will slow your heart rate and calm your mind. Deep, slow breathing also allows you to focus – which is helpful when you’re learning something new!

Ask questions!

Don’t be afraid to ask questions during your Discover Scuba Diving experience or your Open Water Certification Course. The instructors are there to help you feel confident, comfortable, safe and informed during the your entire course. They are there to teach you, so if you need more information or are just curious about something related to diving, use them as a resource to help you feel informed, safe, confident and comfortable.

Also, if you want to get trained in scuba diving and know about Roatan All Inclusive Dive Packages, you may get in touch with us and we will provide you the details.
